Job Purpose

Operate, change the materials, perform necessary cleaning and timely inform the technical department about all issues with the production equipment. Control the production process, while using necessary tools and systems dedicated to this purpose. Perform necessary quality inspections and initiate corrective actions to meet high-quality standards for the final product.

Operational Duties

• Keep the machine cleaned and the working area organized
• Check all materials against product specifications before use in the machine
• Set up the machine according to product specification requirements
• Monitor machine operation to prevent product defects or machine malfunctions.
• Perform on-floor quality checks (visual and physical) according to the quality procedure
• Perform machine cleanings to prevent quality issues and breakdowns according to procedure
• Report the production volumes and breakdowns in activity sheets with accurate data
• Conduct the brand changes according to procedure and keep the Supervisor informed
• Helpline crew members
• Be responsible for machinery, cleaning and all support items used during the production (bins, ladders, glue pots and jars, brushes, buckets and cleaning mops)
• Read documents (safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions & procedure manuals).
• Report problems for the Area Supervisor and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions if required.
• Ensure the production which meets the quality and performance goals.

EHS

• During machine operation, wear uniform, safety shoes and all PPEs received from the Company for the task.
• Check machine safety guards and emergency push buttons before operating the machine beginning of the shift.
• Take care of yourself and others in terms of safety
• Dispose of the garbage in the dedicated place
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures/instructions

Organization and Cleaning Area

• Keep the working area clean and organized
• Maintain all material pallets in the correct place, following the ground mark
• Use the proper tools for cleaning

Job and Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience

• One-year certificate from college or ITI or equivalent.
• Must have at least one year of experience as an Operator in either Cigarette Making or Packing Machines
• Familiarity with Operating a minimum of one Technology in Making or Packing machine
• Previous Secondary Process experience or manufacturing experience in FMCG companies is preferred
• Good attendance record required

Skills and Abilities

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 kg (regularly), lift and/or move up to 20 kg (frequently), and lift and/or move up to 30kg (occasionally).
• Must have close, distance, color, & peripheral vision abilities along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to follow instructions given by Supervisor and/or Production Lead.
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Willing and able to stand for several hours at a time.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
• Manage multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Be self-directed and motivated.
• Should be able to change the working shift every week.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
