Senior Engineer Operations, QA, Facility Integration
About POWERTECH
POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.
Role Summary
You will own the operations of the Additive Manufacturing and Materials facility, keep machines cutting-edge, utilities running smoothly, and every build traceable. You will plan and execute the facility fit-out, run daily operations, head the QA and calibrations team, and act as a single operational interface to vendors, as well as EDGE s central procurement, finance, and legal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility fit-out & utilities: Plan the facility layout for the additive manufacturing workflow including materials, manufacture, post-processing, metrology, QA, and testing & characterization. You will take into account the equipment requirements (power, gas and water supply, extraction, etc) and manage contractors to hand-over.
- Equipment & consumables: Draft specifications, lead RFQs, negotiate T&Cs, oversee FAT/SAT, sustain spare parts pipeline.
- Operational excellence: Ensure smooth operations and utmost utilization of the equipment within the facility. Implement a monitoring dashboard and increase machine uptime.
- QA / Calibration leadership: Govern standard procedures. Ensure all equipment are regularly calibrated. Lead facility certification exercises where needed.
- Vendor & stakeholder liaison: Act as a single point to suppliers, service engineers, as well as EDGE s procurement, finance, and legal teams.
- People management: Mentor technicians, QA engineers, maintenance staff. Organise equipment trainings for relevant users.
- BEng/BSc in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering, or a similar discipline.
- 7+ years running advanced manufacturing facilities, with 3+ years at a principal level.
- Proven fit-out of at least one relevant facility or manufacturing line.
- Hands-on with ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP, EHS, and TPM/OEE systems.
- CAPEX/OPEX budgeting, vendor negotiation, contract and spare parts management experience.
- Leadership: build and manage teams of technicians and drive cultural changes.
- Lean / Six sigma black belt certification
- CMMS & predictive maintenance expertise: set up condition monitoring, analytics, spare parts optimization across AM, post-processing, and metrology assets.
