Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Act as the Company’s Fluids Representative to overall supervise fluids related activities at rig sites, mud plants and warehouses etc.
  • Responsible for all Drilling and completions fluids HSE related issues in the field including rig sites, Mud plants, warehouses etc.
  • Ensuring safety and environmental performance are given the highest priority during all phases of the operations.
  • Monitor and report environmental issues e.g., waste pit conditions, spills, handling of dry cuttings etc. Ensure handling of waste fluids/cuttings is as per contract.
  • Provide support to the Mud Advisor/Drilling team in the base office for the smooth execution of the fluids related operations in the field.
  • Sound knowledge of trouble shooting in relation to drilling and completion fluids operations and fluids and cuttings disposal.
  • Support DSVs in implementation of Process Safety and compliance during drilling program execution and promote positive working culture among the wellsite team to continuously improve historical performance year on year.
  • Supervise fluids and associated service contracts in line with company contracting and procurement procedures and guidelines.
  • Assume single point responsibility for the supervision and coordination of the activities carried out under the various Drilling fluids and associated service contracts.
  • Ensure adequate equipment, inventory of chemicals and base oils also, fluids (WBM/SBM) are available well in advance to execute the program in the field which also meets the quality, HSE and regulatory requirements. Reduce Non-Productive Time (NPT) related to drilling fluids by identifying problems and recommend remedial action in consultation with Mud Advisor to achieve optimum operating cost, HSE standards and performance.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • University Degree in Engineering or Master’s in Sciences.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of drilling and completion fluids, including 2-3 years of experience as a fluids supervisor, is mandatory. It is necessary to have 3+ years of offshore experience.
  • Excellent understanding of Drilling and Completion fluids operational management and Supervision.
  • Good understanding of Process Safety Management.
  • Must have excellent command of the English Language (written and oral) combined with excellent communication skills.
  • Familiar with software related to drilling fluids engineering and computer reporting.
