Roles & Responsibilities


JOB PURPOSE:

The job holder is fully responsible for Technology systems - hardware, software, networks, and data. Track and record all IT assets includes all computers, mobile phones, flash drives, tablets, projectors, servers, wi-fi, endpoints, switches, routers, hubs, and other IT equipment.

The job holder is fully responsible for managing and maintaining the organization s network infrastructure to ensure smooth operations, high availability, and maximum efficiency. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues promptly. Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and IP voice systems; troubleshooting LAN/WAN connections; securing network systems; monitoring performance; perform backup solutions and coordinating with vendors and internal teams .

Main Tasks & Accountabilities :

  • Ensure the continuous availability, reliability, and performance of all IT systems and infrastructure components across the organization.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of IT networks (LAN/WAN, voice, data).
  • Manage & monitor servers and networks for all locations/sites.
  • Design, configure, and document network systems and standards.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network infrastructure performance.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and hosted IP voice services.
  • Install, setup and troubleshoot video conferencing and/or telecommunications equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve network issues and outages across multiple sites.
  • Secure networks by enforcing access policies and IT security protocols.
  • Implement and troubleshoot network infrastructure projects.
  • Administer and maintain firewall environments in line with IT security policies.
  • Plan and implement firmware upgrades for all network equipment.
  • Provide remote support for on-site engineers and end-users.
  • Manage network infrastructure projects, including implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Track and maintain IT assets (computers, servers, mobile devices, projectors, etc.), ensuring proper documentation, transfer, and disposal at end-of-life.
  • Monitor software licenses and maintenance agreements, ensuring renewals before expiry.
  • Provide reports on asset and project updates to the Technology Lead
  • Ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance for their users, such as staff, clients, customers, and suppliers.
  • Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  • Design and implementation of new solutions and improving the resilience of the current environment.
  • maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
  • Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources.
  • Securing network system by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
  • Support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
  • Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritising information and managing projects.
  • Upgrading data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases.
  • Configuration of routing and switching equipment.
  • Configuration of hosted IP voice services.
  • Advance configuration and troubleshooting of firewalls.
  • Remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
  • Implementing and troubleshooting network Infrastructure projects
  • Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data canters.
  • Provide weekly updates to the line manager for assets Property Custodian. Will also be responsible for obtaining the personal property forms for the transferring of all equipment that must be excessed and picked up for disposal when complete it lifetime.
  • Responsible for tracking software licenses and maintenance agreements and providing information about IT agreement's expiry date.
