Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer with proven experience in Extreme Networks solutions. The candidate will be responsible for implementing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Extreme Networks switches, routers, and wireless solutions to ensure a secure and high-performance network environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and manage Extreme Networks switching, routing, and wireless solutions (ExtremeXOS, VSP, Fabric Connect, ExtremeCloud IQ, etc.).
  • Perform network monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues.
  • Manage VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and other routing/switching protocols.
  • Implement and maintain network security features (ACLs, firewalls, NAC, segmentation).
  • Support wireless network deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Participate in network migrations, upgrades, and expansions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth network operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
  • Provide L2/L3 escalation support for network-related issues.
  • Coordinate with Extreme Networks TAC and vendors for escalations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in Extreme Networks switching, routing, and wireless solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, STP, VLAN, VRRP, etc.).
  • Experience with Extreme Management Center (XMC) / ExtremeCloud IQ.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for wired and wireless environments.
  • Good knowledge of network security, NAC solutions, and access policies.
  • Familiarity with multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Extreme Networks certifications (Extreme Certified Specialist / Professional).
  • Experience with automation tools (Python scripting, Ansible).
  • Exposure to SD-WAN, Cloud Networking, or Data Center networking.
  • Knowledge of VoIP and Unified Communications integration with Extreme Networks
