Roles & Responsibilities

 Mission  

The Network and Telecom Administrator is responsible for the design, deployment, security, supervision and maintenance of the UIR's network and telecom infrastructure. He or she guarantees the availability, performance and security of network services, while participating in the implementation of the ISMS.

Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, your missions will be:

  • Administer the university's LAN, WLAN, WAN and VPN networks.
  • Manage active equipment: routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi hotspots.
  • Provide supervision, monitoring and diagnostics of network performance.
  • Implement network security policies (firewall, segmentation, filtering, etc.).
  • Manage IP and mobile telephony (infrastructure, subscriptions, configuration).
  • Participate in the definition and implementation of the business continuity and recovery plan (BCP/PRA).
  • Provide level 2 and 3 technical support for network and telecom incidents.
  • Document architectures, configurations and operating procedures.
  • Participate in the implementation of the ISMS (Information Security Management System).
  • Ensure technological monitoring of network and telecom solutions.
  • Participate in institutional events (JPO, Job Fair, ceremonies, conferences, etc.) by providing network and telecom technical support, preparing infrastructures, and managing connections and equipment.

Desired Candidate Profile

Profile sought:

  • Engineer with a Bac+5 degree in information systems, networks and telecommunications or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in network and telecom administration, ideally in an institutional or university environment.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Mastery of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Cisco equipment.
  • Experience in IP telephony (VoIP, SIP) and mobile fleet management.
  • Supervision tools.
  • Knowledge of security standards (ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Scripting skills (Bash) for automation.
  • Knowledge of virtualized and cloud environments (VMware, Azure, etc.).

Cross-disciplinary knowledge:

  • Rigor, autonomy and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with technical and functional profiles.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Analytical mind and ability to resolve complex incidents.
  • Sense of service, availability and responsiveness, particularly during events.
