A Network Administrator is a crucial member of the IT team responsible for maintaining an organization's computer networks to ensure stable and efficient IT operations. This role involves managing, installing, maintaining, and supporting computer communication networks within an organization or between organizations. The Network Administrator is pivotal in handling the day-to-day operations of the network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity, and optimizing network performance. They work collaboratively with a team of IT professionals, providing training and support to ensure that network systems operate reliably and efficiently. From troubleshooting issues, implementing network security measures, to ensuring data integrity and system backups, the Network Administrator plays a central role in safeguarding the organization s digital assets.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software systems efficiently.
• Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
• Implement security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Perform data backups and recovery operations regularly and systematically.
• Manage and maintain the organization's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network problems, performing diagnostic tests and repairs.
• Plan and implement network upgrades and updates to improve performance.
• Collaborate with IT staff to enhance network security and operational capabilities.
• Develop and document network policies, procedures, and standards clearly.
• Provide technical support to users, assisting with connectivity and application issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards concerning network operations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging network technologies and trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure, architecture, and protocols.
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools effectively.
• Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing concepts.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in network-related issues.
