1. Job Purpose

Managing MDC's network, ensuring its smooth operations and highest efficiency. Extensive knowledge in the technology industry and analytical and problem-solving skills to manage network problems immediately is also necessary. System malfunction diagnosis and troubleshooting operations. Installing network connections.

Incumbent in this position is involved in inspecting network malfunctions, troubleshooting unresponsive programs, improving system processes, analyzing user's specifications, upgrading existing applications, coordinating within the department, and creating a report of network issues resolutions, plus the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

2. Main Tasks & Accountabilities

Task Description

• Main Roles & Responsibilities Manage MDC's NOC to monitor servers and networks for all locations.
• Use TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP to assure information is routed correctly to its destination.
• Configure and maintain the TCP/IP infrastructure, including internal and external DNS management necessary for MDC connectivity.
• Include technical support in implementation and ongoing maintenance operations of LAN and implementation of end-user computing applications and hardware.
• Use MDC's NOC to monitoring the infrastructure environment and updating switches and other devices.
• Facilitate network connectivity using Cat5e and Cat6 Ethernet cabling, DHCP, DNS, wireless access point configuration and administration.
• Install, setup, and troubleshoot video conferencing and/or telecommunications equipment.
• Configure various networking devices including printers.
• Determine need, analyze products, and recommend purchase of LAN hardware and software to increase productivity and reliability efficiently and effectively.
• Install and manage DHCP servers including setting up DHCP scopes, enabling DHCP, viewing and managing active leases.
• Track and manage technical network issues covering PC tune-ups, printer / software installations, and troubleshooting issues.
• Manage DNS enhancements.
• Maintain and support the installation and configuration of resort-wide LAN to provide inter-office email and share Internet access.
• Maintain the availability of local and distrTechnology office computer resources including servers, workstations, laptops, and printers.
• Install and configure routers and network appliances to provide proper network integrity.
• Monitor, maintain and improve infrastructure of the MDC LAN, consistently ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Implement and maintain network infrastructure.
• Maintain records (trouble ticketing system) supervise day to day operations of the MDC NOC.
• Experience with creating Visio diagrams and performing detail network assessments.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment during operational exercises, supporting the TECHNOLOGY support team.
• Hardware: Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software. Design, configure, install, and maintain local area network hardware, software, and telecommunication services.
• Monitor Network performance, troubleshoot Network outages. Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment during operational exercises. Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including VOIP management.
• Installation of various equipment including Switches, Routers and Wireless controller related to Network and communication. Install and maintain MDC's network routers and switches and provide data connectivity over a widely geographically dispersed area.
• Technical support in implementation and ongoing maintenance operations of LAN and implementation of end-user computing applications and hardware. Design and implement LAN environment; provide documentation/project tracking and management reporting; network design, testing and execution. Administrate user/group permissions and shared documents through management of Windows Server network LAN infrastructure.
• Managing internal network infrastructure. Improve network infrastructure by recommending appropriate network addressing systems, layouts for various network configurations, and suitable connection devices. Monitor circuits and network outages, perform network backups, install, and maintain servers and network infrastructure.
• Perform user setup and administration for incoming and outgoing employees including email account creation. Resolved network connectivity discrepancies and setup to routers and switches to restore communications. Network setup and maintenance, data implementation. Provide support for Printer/Print Server installation, printing equipment setup, replacement and/or troubleshooting.
• Maintain and configure network appliances at all MDC sites. Deploy/replace wireless access points throughout the infrastructure. Configure and deploy Aruba Wireless Access Points using physical and virtual Management Controllers.
• Provide technical direction and expertise to TECHNOLOGY support team. Provide technical support in the identification and isolation of faulty network components.

Based in Muscat Office and travelling to all depots in Oman
