Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the implementation of backfilling strategies, ensuring ground stability and operational efficiency in underground mines.
- Conduct comprehensive geotechnical assessments and risk analyses to determine optimal backfill methods and material selection.
- Optimize backfill mixes, considering factors like strength, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact, using advanced modeling software.
- Develop and maintain detailed backfilling plans, schedules, and budgets, coordinating with mining and engineering teams.
- Analyze backfill performance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to enhance backfilling effectiveness.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is essential; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in underground mining, with a focus on backfilling operations.
- Strong technical skills in backfill design, material selection, and operational management are required.
- Show a proactive approach to safety, with a strong commitment to creating a safe working environment.
