Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive prenatal care, including risk assessment, health education, and counseling, ensuring a healthy pregnancy journey for expectant mothers.
- Conduct thorough assessments during labor and delivery, meticulously monitoring fetal well-being and maternal progress to ensure safe outcomes.
- Provide skilled postnatal care, including breastfeeding support, newborn care education, and postpartum assessment, facilitating a smooth transition for families.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all aspects of patient care and adhering to ethical and legal standards.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other specialists, to provide integrated care.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for women and their families, fostering a supportive and empowering environment throughout the pregnancy and childbirth continuum.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Midwifery, demonstrating a solid foundation in the field.
- Holds a valid Midwife license and relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Nurse-Midwife – CNM), showcasing professional qualifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical midwifery setting, indicating practical expertise.
- Experience in a hospital or birthing center environment, displaying familiarity with diverse clinical settings.
- Demonstrates proficiency in fetal monitoring, labor and delivery management, and newborn resuscitation, reflecting technical competency.
- Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Possesses empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach, fostering a supportive and trusting environment.
- Demonstrates problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, enabling effective decision-making in challenging situations.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, handling multiple tasks and emergencies with composure and efficiency.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required, with additional language skills (e.g., Spanish) being a plus, ensuring effective communication with diverse patient populations.
