Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Midwife, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to women before, during, and after childbirth. You will be responsible for monitoring the health of the mother and baby, developing personalized care plans, and offering guidance on living a healthy lifestyle during and after pregnancy. You will help in delivering babies, from providing antenatal care to ensuring postnatal health and recovery. A successful Midwife must have excellent communication skills, an empathetic nature, and a strong understanding of the complexities and joys of childbirth. Responsibilities
- Conduct prenatal examinations and monitor the health of pregnant women regularly.
- Develop and tailor comprehensive birthing plans to suit individual client needs.
- Provide education and guidance on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle during pregnancy.
- Assist and support women during labor and delivery, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Monitor fetal development through ultrasounds and other diagnostic procedures.
- Manage emergencies during delivery with calm and effective response strategies.
- Offer expert advice on postnatal care and managing newborn health challenges.
- Educate parents on infant care practices, including breastfeeding and safe sleeping positions.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive maternal and infant care.
- Document and update patient information accurately in a timely manner.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to mothers and their families.
- Stay updated with current best practices and emerging trends in midwifery.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Midwifery or a recognized midwifery program certification.
- Valid license to practice as a midwife .
- Strong understanding of prenatal, birthing, and postnatal healthcare processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient and family interactions.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure, emergency situations.
- Adept at managing diverse patient needs with a compassionate approach.
- Commitment to staying informed about new techniques and healthcare regulations.
