Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
To ensure that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works are executed and installed in full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project quality standards. The MEP QC Inspector will monitor, inspect, and verify all site activities to ensure adherence to client requirements, regulatory standards, and company quality procedures.
- Conduct daily inspections and quality checks on MEP systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and electrical installations.
- Verify materials and equipment delivered to the site conform to approved specifications and standards.
- Review and ensure compliance with ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), RFIs, NCRs, and punch lists.
- Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and QA/QC Engineers to ensure timely inspections and approvals.
- Identify non-conformities, issue reports, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in preparation and review of method statements, checklists, and inspection reports.
- Ensure proper documentation of all inspections, tests, and quality records for submission and handover.
- Support QA/QC Engineer in updating project quality documentation and implementing improvements when needed.
- Verify calibration and proper functioning of test instruments and inspection tools.
- Ensure that all works are executed in line with health, safety, and environmental standards (HSE).
- Assist in final inspection, handover, and closeout documentation including turnover packages and as-built quality records.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant UAE/GCC experience in construction, MEP, or water transmission projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, quality control processes, and inspection procedures.
- Familiar with QA/QC documentation, including ITR, NCR, ITP, and RFI.
- Experience working with consultants and EPC contractors in the UAE.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and SAP preferred.
- Certification or training in Construction Safety and Health (OSHA / NEBOSH) is an advantage.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- UAE Driving License preferred.
Preferred Background:
Candidates with hands-on experience in:
- Mechanical and Plumbing Inspections (pumps, valves, tanks, pressure vessels, pipelines)
- Rotating and static equipment inspection and maintenance
- Walk-down inspection and turnover documentation
- NDT coordination and equipment preservation during shutdowns
