Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

� General Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and implement MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection).
  • Coordinate between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams to ensure integration of services.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and BOQs to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and shop drawings.
  • Ensure MEP systems comply with local authority regulations, safety codes, and sustainability requirements.

� Mechanical (HVAC / Plumbing / Fire Fighting)

  • Design and supervise HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ducting, and ventilation.
  • Prepare load calculations, duct sizing, pump head loss calculations, etc.
  • Review and approve plumbing systems: water supply, drainage, stormwater, irrigation, and sanitary.
  • Design and supervise fire-fighting systems: sprinklers, hose reels, hydrants, FM200, and fire pumps.
  • Test and commission all mechanical systems before handover.

� Electrical

  • Design and supervise electrical power distribution systems (MV/LV panels, transformers, generators).
  • Ensure proper sizing of cables, breakers, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
  • Review lighting and small power layouts as per standards.
  • Coordinate low-voltage systems: fire alarm, CCTV, access control, BMS, and telecom.
  • Ensure energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions.

� Plumbing

  • Oversee water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems.
  • Check sizing of piping networks, water tanks, pumps, and fixtures.
  • Ensure systems meet health, safety, and water conservation standards.

� Project & Site Coordination

  • Coordinate MEP activities with architects, civil engineers, and contractors.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor progress against project timelines.
  • Review material submittals, method statements, and technical approvals.
  • Identify and resolve clashes using coordination drawings / BIM.
  • Attend client, consultant, and contractor meetings.

� Testing, Commissioning & Handover

  • Supervise testing & commissioning of MEP systems.
  • Prepare snag lists and ensure rectification before handover.
  • Provide operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals to clients.
  • Train facility management teams on MEP system operation.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • Master’s degree or specialized certification in MEP Design / Project Management (preferred).
  • Valid membership in engineering associations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE, CIBSE) is an advantage.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in MEP design, site supervision, and project coordination
  • Proven track record of working on high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, residential, hospitals, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with local authority regulations and international codes/standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, IEC, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, , and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of MEP design software (HAP, Duct Sizer, Pipe Sizer, ETAP, Dialux, etc.).
  • Ability to prepare and review shop drawings, BOQs, method statements, and material submittals.

Soft Skills

  • Strong project coordination, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Leadership qualities to manage teams and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver within deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Willingness to work on-site and travel if required.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
