Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
To provide efficient and economical maintenance and repair service for Crane, mainly Port equipment thereby adding support to the smooth functioning of port operations while considering operational and safety factors, and adherence to port policies and procedures.
- Carry out planned maintenance on all items of crane equipment, keeping to the high standards as laid down by the company, for both safety and reliability.
- To ensure maximum operational availability of equipment by conducting periodic diagnostic work and repairs.
- To undertake work in a safe manner in compliance with safety regulations and procedures as defined.
- To keep the Supervisors and other technicians informed of progress & problems to ensure smooth flow of communication.
- To maintain tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment thereby creating a safe and healthy work environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Diploma or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field, providing a strong foundation in mechanical principles.
- Demonstrates a minimum of 5 years of experience in crane maintenance and repair, showcasing practical knowledge and hands-on skills.
- Preference is given to candidates with experience in the construction or maritime industry, understanding the specific demands of these environments.
- Requires proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication and documentation.
- Exhibits strong technical skills in mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and component replacement, ensuring efficient problem-solving.
- Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals, allowing for accurate diagnosis and repair.
- Must be physically fit, capable of working at heights, and able to lift and handle heavy equipment, ensuring the ability to perform all job duties.
- Exhibits a strong work ethic, with a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Possesses excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex mechanical issues and identify effective solutions.
