Roles & Responsibilities
A Mechanical Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of hydraulic systems, components, and equipment. This hands-on role involves working with pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and associated hydraulic circuits in industrial or mobile applications. The technician ensures that all hydraulic systems operate reliably, safely, and in accordance with technical specifications and maintenance procedures.
Job Summary:
A Mechanical Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of hydraulic systems, components, and equipment. This hands-on role involves working with pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and associated hydraulic circuits in industrial or mobile applications. The technician ensures that all hydraulic systems operate reliably, safely, and in accordance with technical specifications and maintenance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair: • Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on hydraulic systems and components. • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves. • Replace or refurbish worn components such as seals, hoses, filters, and fittings.
System Inspection and Troubleshooting: • Identify hydraulic failures or performance issues and assist in diagnosing root causes. • Use pressure gauges, flow meters, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate system conditions. • Support the implementation of corrective actions to restore optimal system performance.
Testing and Assembly: • Perform pressure and functionality testing of repaired hydraulic equipment. • Assist in configuring and calibrating hydraulic test benches when required. • Verify that repaired components meet operational specifications before reinstallation.
Documentation and Reporting: • Record maintenance tasks, parts used, and test results accurately in maintenance logs or systems. • Report abnormalities or recurring issues to supervisors or engineers for further investigation.
Workshop and Field Support: • Work in both workshop and field environments depending on equipment location. • Follow work orders, safety procedures, and maintenance standards during all tasks. • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications: • Technical Diploma or Industrial Training Certificate in Mechanical or Hydraulic Technology (required). • Certification in hydraulic systems maintenance or fluid power (preferred).
Experience: • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic maintenance and repair. • Experience working with industrial or mobile hydraulic systems and components.
Skills and Competencies: • Good understanding of hydraulic system operation and mechanical component functions. • Ability to read basic hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals. • Skilled in using mechanical tools, measurement instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and safety awareness. • Ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team.
