Job Purpose

Responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring all mechanical works at the project site. This includes HVAC systems, plumbing, firefighting, and equipment installation. The role ensures mechanical tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications, project timelines, and regulatory standards.

Key Accountabilities

Day- to-day Operations:

Supervise and manage the installation and testing of mechanical systems, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, drainage, and equipment installation.

Review mechanical drawings, material submittals, and specifications to ensure work is done accurately and per project requirements.

Coordinate daily site activities and provide technical direction to subcontractors and technicians.

Ensure all mechanical works are executed in compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and local codes.

Monitor project progress and resolve technical issues that may arise during installation or testing.

Ensure proper handling and storage of mechanical materials and equipment on-site.

Conduct routine inspections and ensure timely testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.

Assist in preparing site reports, method statements, and documentation for mechanical activities.

Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, electrical) to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth execution.

Participate in site meetings and communicate effectively with the project team and subcontractors.

Ensure timely submission of inspection requests and closure of any non-conformance reports (NCRs).

Review and approve timesheets, job cards, and invoices from subcontractors related to mechanical works.

Support the Project Manager in planning manpower, tools, and material requirements.

Verify installation accuracy and ensure compliance with project quality assurance procedures.

Oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities related to mechanical systems.

Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance performance and efficiency.

Reporting:

Prepare reports timely and accurately to meet HALJ and other departments' requirements, policies, and standards.

Typing, compiling, and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence.

Health, Safety, & Environment:

Monitor the adherence to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
