Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment within the shipyard and industrial facilities. The role requires strong technical knowledge of mechanical fittings, alignment, and equipment installation. The candidate must ensure all mechanical works are completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and project specifications.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
Perform fitting, assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Carry out alignment, balancing, and adjustment of mechanical parts and machinery.
Dismantle and reassemble mechanical components for repair and maintenance purposes.
Inspect machinery, piping, and equipment to identify defects or wear and tear.
Work with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and other team members to complete mechanical installations.
Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with company HSE standards.
Report faults, damages, or irregularities to supervisors and assist in troubleshooting.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related trade.
Experience: Minimum 2u20135 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter in shipyard, industrial, or construction sectors.
Gulf experience preferred.
Must have good knowledge of mechanical assembly, installation, and maintenance practices.
Ability to use measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial gages.
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment fitting.
Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and technical documents.
Good knowledge of safety practices and worksite protocols.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Teamwork, discipline, and time management skills.
Basic English communication; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
