Roles & Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer (Site-Based) will assist in the coordination, execution, and supervision of mechanical works, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for luxury residential projects. This role focuses on ensuring mechanical activities are carried out as per project specifications, drawings, and quality standards, while providing technical support to the site team and coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, and authorities to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

Coordinate and follow up on all mechanical activities on site in alignment with project schedules and deadlines.
Assist in resolving technical and coordination issues related to mechanical systems.
Attend site meetings with contractors, consultants, and project teams as required.
Liaise with relevant authorities (DEWA, ADDC, FEWA, SEWA, Municipality, Civil Defense, etc.) for inspection and approval processes.
Prepare and raise RFIs according to site requirements for review and approval by the Senior Mechanical Engineer

Execution and Supervision

Supervise and monitor the installation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Ensure that all mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and local regulations.
Conduct routine site inspections to verify quality, progress, and adherence to safety standards.
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of mechanical works.
Report technical issues or deviations to the Senior Mechanical Engineer for timely resolution.

Quality Control

Ensure mechanical installations comply with approved shop drawings and quality standards.
Participate in testing and commissioning activities under the supervision of senior engineers.
Monitor mechanical works to ensure compliance with design intent and authority requirements.
Maintain proper documentation of inspections and test results.

Documentation and Reporting

Prepare and update technical documents such as shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for review and approval.
Maintain records of daily site activities, progress, and material usage.
Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and inspection requests.
Prepare weekly progress updates and report any delays or site challenges.

Resource Management

Monitor availability of mechanical materials and equipment on site and coordinate with the procurement team for timely supply.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower and materials.
Follow safety standards and promote a safe working environment across all activities.

Client and Consultant Interaction

Support communication with consultants and clients regarding technical clarifications and inspections.
Implement approved design changes or modifications as instructed.
Ensure updated drawings and records reflect approved site changes.

Desired Candidate Profile

·Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

· Experience:

A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in mechanical works execution, preferably in luxury residential or high-end construction projects.
Proven experience in site-based mechanical execution and supervision with a main contractor.

·Skills:

Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
Food communication and coordination skills.
Knowledge of UAE authority requirements and local standards.
