A Mechanical Drafter plays a critical role in the engineering and manufacturing industries by creating detailed technical drawings and designs of mechanical equipment and systems. These designs are vital in ensuring that machinery and components are built accurately according to specifications. The drafts created will serve as blueprints for the manufacturing team to produce and assemble items such as engines, tools, and other mechanical apparatuses. A successful mechanical drafter must have a strong understanding of engineering principles, proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, and excellent attention to detail. Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical components using CAD software.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to translate concepts into workable designs.
• Review sketches and preliminary designs to determine operational feasibility and compliance.
• Ensure the accuracy of drafted plans by verifying dimensions and materials.
• Prepare layouts and computation of dimensions for equipment installation guides.
• Update and maintain technical documentation according to project revisions or changes.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure design specifications are met in production.
• Maintain a repository of design files and documentation for future reference.
• Provide support and resolutions for design-related issues during the production phase.
• Identify potential design improvements for performance and cost efficiency.
• Draft operation manuals by creating diagrams and visual instructions for end-users.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements in drafting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical drafting, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce precise and accurate designs.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineering and production teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
