Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Meticulously examine incoming aviation materials, components, and parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase orders to ensure compliance and airworthiness.
- Conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to verify material integrity and adherence to standards.
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as eddy current, penetrant, and ultrasonic inspections, interpreting results to identify defects and ensure material quality.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, including detailed reports, discrepancies, and corrective actions, ensuring traceability and compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and procurement teams to resolve material discrepancies, initiate rejection notices, and implement corrective actions.
- Verify material certifications, traceability documentation, and shelf-life management to guarantee the use of approved and reliable aviation materials.
- Prepare materials for storage, ensuring proper handling and preservation techniques to prevent damage and maintain material integrity.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of inspection procedures, standards, and training programs to improve inspection effectiveness.
- Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and demonstrating compliance with aviation regulations and quality standards.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and new inspection techniques to enhance inspection capabilities and knowledge.
Desired Candidate Profile
- An Associate's degree in a technical field is preferred.
- Hold relevant certifications such as ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) Level II or equivalent in NDT methods (e.g., Eddy Current, Penetrant, Ultrasonic).
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation material inspection or a related quality control role.
- Demonstrate experience in working with aircraft materials, components, and parts, with a strong understanding of aviation regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA).
- Show proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Exhibit excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve material discrepancies effectively.
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate the physical ability to perform inspections, including the ability to lift and maneuver materials and work in various environments.
- Be fluent in English (written and spoken) is essential; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
