Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Chartering & Commercial Management

• Handle spot and time charter negotiations, voyage estimations and fixture confirmations.

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with charterers, brokers and other stakeholders to ensure optimal vessel utilization.

• Monitor market trends, freight rates, and opportunities to enhance profitability and mitigate commercial risks.

• Negotiate and finalize charter party terms, ensuring full compliance with contractual and operational obligations.

• Attend promptly to Contracts administration and post fixture matters.


2. Vessel Operations (Ship Owner’s Side)

• Oversee daily commercial operations of vessels under management.

• Coordinate with technical, operations and crewing departments to ensure vessel readiness, safety and performance

• Manage post-fixture activities including laytime calculations, demurrage/dispatch and performance claims.

• Ensure efficient, safe and environmentally compliant operations in accordance with industry standards.


3. Financial & Performance Management

• Optimize voyage and time charter performance to minimize off-hire and maximize earnings.

• Prioritizing the allocation of sales and technical resources to accomplish the objectives of the yearly sales target.

• To Strategize & Execute company's foray into Offshore Vessel segment, i.e. AHTS, PSV & OSVs segment.

• Control and monitor operating costs including bunkering, port expenses and agency fees.

• Conduct voyage performance reviews, budgeting and cost optimization initiatives across the fleet.

• Prepare Commercial Performance Reports periodically on fleet / service performance to compare actual against budget in terms of revenue earned, utilization of Vessels and costs structures to the Management for informed decision making


4. Strategic & Market Analysis

• Analyze market dynamics, freight indices and competitor activities to support strategic decision-making.

• Develop and recommend long-term chartering and investment strategies based on fleet performance and market outlook.

• Strong commercial acumen and market awareness

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Business or a related discipline.

• Minimum 08–10 years of experience in commercial management, chartering or vessel operations in UAE are preferred.

• Knowledge on Offshore industry, Contracts and subcontracts, various BIMCO Charterparty Contracts etc.

• Prior experience working from the ship owner’s perspective is essential.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
