Roles & Responsibilities
Gulf Medical University (GMU) is seeking a qualified and experienced Manager – Simulation to oversee operations at our state-of-the-art Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare (CASH). This role is key to delivering immersive, high-impact simulation-based education and ensuring our students are clinically competent, confident, and ready for real-world practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the simulation center, ensuring efficient use of resources and facilities.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to design, implement, and assess simulation scenarios aligned with curricular goals.
- Supervise and train simulation staff and educators on equipment use, scenario facilitation, and debriefing techniques.
- Maintain simulation equipment (including high-fidelity mannequins and AV systems) and coordinate with vendors for technical support and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., SSH, ASPE, INACSL) and contribute to GMU’s accreditation processes.
- Evaluate simulation outcomes and contribute to continuous quality improvement and innovation in simulation education.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Expertise in simulation-based teaching methodologies and scenario development using high-fidelity and task trainers.
- Proficient in the use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of simulation equipment (e.g., Laerdal, CAE, Gaumard) and AV systems.
- Ability to align simulation activities with GMU’s academic and clinical training objectives.
- Skilled in scheduling, budgeting, team supervision, and operational planning within a healthcare education context.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster cross-functional teamwork with faculty, students, and external partners.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, patient safety principles, and emerging trends in medical simulation education.
