Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Manager – Hoses Division will spearhead the strategic growth, operational excellence, and commercial performance of Petro-Q’s Hoses business unit—covering hydraulic, industrial, instrumentation, and specialty hoses for upstream, midstream, and downstream applications. As the P&L owner, this role demands deep technical knowledge of hose systems (including API, ISO, EN, and OEM standards such as Parker, Gates, Eaton Aeroquip), coupled with proven experience in team leadership, vendor/supplier ecosystem management, and value-chain optimization. The incumbent will drive revenue growth, margin protection, mobile hose services, and engineered solutions—while ensuring compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Commercial Leadership
· Develop and execute the 3-year business plan for the Hoses Division
· Own full P&L accountability: revenue, gross profit, OPEX, working capital (inventory, receivables), and ROI on capex (e.g., crimping rigs, test benches).
· Lead tendering, RFQ/RFI responses, and techno-commercial negotiations for EPC and direct end-user projects.
· Build and maintain agency/partnership relationships with global principals
· Introduce differentiated offerings: hose management programs (IMR), recertification, on-site hose van services, and custom assemblies.
2. Technical & Operational Excellence
· Oversee hose fabrication, assembly, and testing—including hydraulic crimping (up to 8”), stainless steel braided hoses (up to 6”), and pressure/leak testing per API 16D, ISO 1402, EN 853/856 standards.
· Ensure technical documentation integrity: MTRs, test certificates, FAT reports, compliance with client specs (e.g., PDO, Qatargas, ADNOC).
· Manage QA/QC processes: raw material inspection, in-process checks, final validation, and non-conformance resolution (NCR tracking).
· Implement preventive maintenance and calibration protocols for hose-making equipment.
· Drive digitalization: ERP-based order-to-delivery workflows (e.g., SAP/Oracle), hose lifecycle tracking, and predictive inventory tools.
3. Sales, Customer & Market Development
· Identify and penetrate new segments: offshore drilling, FPSOs, LNG terminals, refineries, and ICV-driven local projects.
· Manage key accounts (EPCs, NOCs, OEMs) and develop long-term partnerships through value engineering and reliability-centered solutions.
· Lead competitive intelligence: benchmark pricing, product specs, lead times, and service differentiators across GCC.
· Support BD teams with technical input for RFPs, product demos, site audits, and client workshops.
4. Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
Direct a multidisciplinary team: sales engineers, technical support, hose fabricators, QA inspectors, and logistics coordinators.
Collaborate with Procurement on vendor sourcing, MOQ optimization, and lead-time reduction.
Partner with Group HR on competency mapping, succession planning, and performance management (aligned with your new system).
Key Qualifications & Experience
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Instrumentation/Industrial Engineering or equivalent. MBA (preferred).
Experience
• 12+ years in hydraulic/industrial hoses sector, with ≥5 years in managerial capacity.
• Proven track record managing hoses business P&L (AED 20M+ annual revenue).
• Hands-on experience with hose crimping, fabrication, testing, and failure analysis.
• Deep familiarity with principal ecosystems (Parker, Gates, Eaton, Alfagomma, Manuli).
• Experience in Qatar/GCC markets with EPCs, NOCs, and OEMs.
Technical Competencies
• Hose types: Wire braid (1SN–4SP), spiral (R13–R15), thermoplastic, PTFE, stainless steel.
• End fittings: Reusable, permanent, swaged, bulkheads; JIC, ORFS, NPT, BSP, DIN.
• Standards: API 7K/16D, ISO 1307/1402/1436, EN 853/856/10216, SAE 100R.
• Testing: Hydrostatic, impulse, flex fatigue, burst pressure validation.
• Software: ERP (SAP/Oracle), CRM, CAD for hose routing (basic).
Soft Skills
Strategic thinking, negotiation, change management, stakeholder influence, data-driven decision making.
