Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The resource is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems across all warehouse and logistics operations in UAE and other territories. This role provides strategic direction, fosters a proactive safety culture, ensures compliance with regulatory and corporate standards and guidelines, and drive sustainable practices throughout the business. The resource serves as a key advisor on all HSE matters to leadership


Strategic HSE Leadership

· Develop and implement long-term HSE strategies aligned with group and corporate objectives.

· Promote a strong safety culture and environmental responsibility across all levels of the organization.

Policy & System Development

· Design, implement, and govern HSE policies, programs, and management systems.

· Ensure integration and maintenance of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards across all sites.

· Lead HSE digitization initiatives and maintain up-to-date warehouse HSE manuals and plans

Group Territory HSE Management

· Extend group HSE benchmarks across all territories and warehouse operations.

· Coordinate with territory HSE managers and oversee periodic site visits and compliance monitoring.

· Drive corporate sustainability and recycling initiatives across retail, office, and warehouse operations.

· Submit Group HSE Scorecard, Statistics and updates to the HOD.

Compliance & Risk Management

· Ensure full compliance with local / international HSE laws, standards, and authority guidelines.

· Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments and enforce effective control measures.

· Ensure HSE compliance in all warehouse activities, contractor operations, and capital projects.

· Workplace & occupational safety compliance

· Oversee physical security compliance, including government regulations.

Incident Management & Reporting

· Oversee investigations of major incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective action.

· Report HSE metrics and incident trends to leadership and regulatory authorities as required.

Team Leadership & Development

· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HSE professionals.

· Build internal HSE capability through structured training and succession planning.

Stakeholder Collaboration

· Engage with external regulatory bodies, agencies, and local authorities.

· Collaborate with country heads and cross-functional teams to embed HSE in business operations.

Audit & Performance Monitoring

· Lead internal and third-party HSE audits and inspections.

· Track and analyze HSE KPIs, implement corrective measures, and benchmark performance.

Emergency Preparedness

· Develop and maintain site-specific emergency response plans and crisis protocols.

· Conduct regular emergency drills and post-incident debriefs to ensure preparedness.

Sustainability & Environmental Management

· Champion sustainability efforts, including waste reduction, energy/resource optimization, and landfill diversion.

· Align environmental performance with corporate sustainability goals.

Group Insurance Audit & Risk Management

· Lead insurance audit processes and drive risk improvement initiatives with insurance partners.

· Coordinate annual insurance audits for warehouse sites with corporate finance and insurance teams.

· Ensure fire safety and life safety compliance across office and warehouse facilities.

Digitization and Centralization

· Automation of routine tasks like incident reports, safety audits and compliance checks to improve accuracy and speed and have real time visibility.

· Develop and implement digitization across the territories to collect, analyse, translate real time data to evalaute risk and make informed decisions while improving knowledge transfer and communication.

Budget & Resource Management

· Prepare and manage the annual HSE department budget.

Allocate and optimize resources for safety initiatives and compliance programs.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant field; Postgraduate qualification in HSE preferred.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (International) Level 6 or 7, or equivalent recognized international HSE certification
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in Health, Safety and Environmental management, in warehouse / logistics environments.
  • Proven track record in implementing HSE systems, managing multi-site operations, and leading teams.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-border HSE team management is a plus
