Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Needs to be always alert to fix any plant reliability problems.

• Needs to apply the Preventive Maintenance Program of the site and report immediately any

deviations from that.

• Follow established procedures and rules to facilitate production, assuring that all maintenance

activities are performed according to the plan or needs.

• Should be able to change prime movers (motors), replace or remove gearboxes, and rebuild

and replace pumps, blowers, filters, and other mechanical equipment.

• Should be able to do equipment alignments, read mechanical and technical manuals and

diagrams.

• Required to carry a company’s cell phone at any time and be on call for the site for a certain

number of days per month.

• Understand all the safety and loss prevention issues of operations and strictly follow and apply

all the related rules and practices of the company.

• Able to understand and use all maintenance-related software.

• Understand process protocols and generate required compliance documentation.

• Troubleshoot and resolve all maintenance issues that might occur in the production or plant supporting equipment

• Always seek opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement through good practice

approaches.

• Contact and cooperate with production personnel to apply all maintenance activities with the

minimum negative impact on production.

• Follow the preventive maintenance plan and schedule strictly

• Required to wear complete PPEs from head to toe all the time while working in the plant

• Watch closely the leadership style of the plant management and other colleagues, search for related training online and live, and familiarize oneself with the relationship culture of the company

• Awareness of the plant's cost structure and demonstrate the ability to mind and reduce maintenance and operational costs

• Think outside of the box to provide recommendations on changes targeted to increased efficiency and lower cost of operation

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

Minimum Qualifications • Higher Technical College Certificate and Certification as Mechanical Technician • Mechanical certification will be an asset • Knowledge of basic production machine electrical/electronic circuits is HIGHLY DESIRABLE. • Knowledge to read and use easily mechanical drawings • Knowledge to read electrical and electronic drawings desirable

Minimum Experience: • 5 years in plastics or plastic additives plants as a mechanical maintenance technician, preferably in plants using twin screw compounding equipment of modern vintage, and related solids handling feeding systems and plastic testing equipment. Experience in PE and PP compounds, masterbatches, and/or additive blending equipment is preferred.
