Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainboard Repair & Electronics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing faults at the board level for smartphones, laptops, and other electronics, with a focus on Apple, Lenovo and HP devices. This role requires advanced micro-soldering skills, deep technical knowledge of electronic circuitry, and the ability to deliver high-quality repairs with precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform board-level diagnostics using schematics, board views, and precision measurement tools.
Identify and replace faulty components (IC chips, capacitors, resistors, connectors, power management ICs, GPUs, CPUs).
Carry out micro-soldering, BGA chip rebelling, and reflow work.
Repair damaged traces, pads, and PCB layers when required.
Conduct repairs for liquid damage, short circuits, and no-power issues.
Update or reflash BIOS, EFI, and firmware as needed.
Reassemble and test devices to ensure full functionality meets manufacturer specifications.
Use and maintain repair tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, hot air stations, and ultrasonic cleaners.
Follow ESD safety protocols at all times.
Keep detailed repair logs and maintain records of parts used and issues resolved.
Communicate findings and repair status to supervisors or customers.
Assist with training junior technicians and sharing best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Training
Diploma or degree in electronics, electrical engineering, computer hardware or equivalent work experience.
Industry certifications (e.g., IPC Certification, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT), Lenovo Certified Technician) preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proven experience in board-level electronics repair for smartphones, laptops, and other consumer electronics.
Expert in micro-soldering and rework station usage.
Proficient in reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and schematics.
Knowledge of Apple iPhone, MacBook's and PC hardware architectures.
Familiarity with BIOS flashing and hardware programming tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Experience:
Minimum 2 3 years of electronics repair experience, preferably with mainboard repairs.
Demonstrated success in resolving complex repair cases, including water damage and power-related failures.
Soft Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and precision in technical work.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
