Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Import & Export Coordination
- Plan, organize, and track import and export shipments (air, sea, and land).
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs clearance documents.
- Ensure all shipments comply with international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
- Shipment Management
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and transport providers for timely shipment execution.
- Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to stakeholders on delivery status.
- Resolve issues such as delays, demurrage, damages, or discrepancies in coordination with vendors and carriers.
- Cost & Vendor Management
- Obtain and evaluate freight quotations, negotiate rates with forwarders, and optimize logistics costs.
- Review freight invoices, ensure accuracy, and coordinate with finance for timely payments.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of import/export transactions and shipment documentation.
- Ensure adherence to Incoterms, HS codes, and country-specific regulations.
- Support audits by providing required shipment and customs documentation.
- Internal Coordination
- Work closely with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to align shipment schedules with business requirements.
- Provide shipment timelines, delays, and cost visibility to management and internal stakeholders.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics coordination with import & export shipment handling.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms, customs regulations, and documentation.
- Hands-on experience in dealing with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP/WMS systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in GCC / Middle East markets is an advantage.
- Familiarity with free zone and bonded warehouse procedures.
- Knowledge of trade compliance requirements (e.g., HS Code classification, restricted party screening).
