Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Light and Heavy Vehicle Mechanic skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles such as cranes, forklifts, pickups, excavators, and wheel loaders. Proficient in engine overhauls, brake systems, hydraulic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Ensures safety, reliability, and efficiency of vehicles while maintaining high work standards and minimizing downtime through effective problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults in light and heavy vehicles.
- Independently troubleshoot and repair vehicles such as excavators, forklifts, wheel loaders, and pickups.
- Work on both petrol and diesel engines.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability and safety.
- Overhaul engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems.
- Conduct road tests and verify completed repairs.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
- Communicate with supervisors and drivers regarding vehicle conditions and required repairs.
- Identify, order, and replace defective parts as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance vehicle efficiency and safety standards.
- Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor or management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Full-time technical course in a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience handling light and heavy vehicles such as pickups, forklifts, wheel loaders, excavators, and cranes.
- Experience in electrical diagnostics will be an added advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair abilities in mechanical systems of light and heavy vehicles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Sound knowledge of tools and equipment used in automotive maintenance.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulatory standards.
