Lead - Process Engineering (Gas Based DRI)

The incumbent will lead the overall process design, engineering, and optimization for global Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) projects. The role requires an expert with deep knowledge of gas-based DRI process technology, ensuring process excellence, safety compliance, and energy efficiency aligned with global engineering standards.

This role involves frequent international travel to project sites for technical reviews, coordination with EPC partners and licensors, and to ensure smooth execution from concept to commissioning.

Role & responsibilities:

• Lead and guide the process engineering team for global DRI projects.
• Develop and review process design packages (PFDs, P&IDs, mass & energy balance, equipment specifications).
• Oversee technology selection, process validation, and integration with upstream and downstream steelmaking units.
• Drive performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives for operating plants.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with EPC consultants, licensors, and internal stakeholders for design and execution reviews.
• Conduct technical due diligence and feasibility studies for new and expansion projects.
• Support commissioning, PGT, and ramp-up of DRI facilities globally.
• Lead energy optimization, resource efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
• Represent the company in technical reviews, audits, and client discussions.
• Mentor and develop a strong process engineering team to ensure capability enhancement.
