Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Liaison with engineers and technicians from within the organization and with external consultants and contractors.

  • Carry out the review and design of ITS systems and infrastructure for road projects in accordance with Qatar standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Carry out inspections and review of existing ITS infrastructure.
  • Providing ITS advice and guidance into various road infrastructure projects.
  • Carry out studies for the implementation and operation of ITS.
  • Providing support in the preparation of route reports, location reports and area reports as required by the organization
  • Liaise with utilities providers and other stakeholders.
  • Liaison with other interdisciplinary technical specialists in addressing ITS issues on infrastructure projects.
  • Perform other related duties based on the requirements of the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile

BSc/BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering/Electrical/Electronic from a recognized university.

  • CEng/PE, Peng or equivalent Chartership is desirable.
  • Minimum demonstrable experience of 14 years as a Lead ITS Engineer.
  • 18 years of demonstrable relevant experience in design, operation & maintenance of ITS infrastructure, with satisfactory exposure to all related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience with management capacity.
  • Very good knowledge and experience with international & GCC design and construction code
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken Arabic would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Experience in Highway design, traffic engineering and allied fields.
  • Experience with electrical / electronic / tele-communications systems as related to ITS.
