Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The language course coordinator will be responsible for:
Supervision of the teaching team;
Facilitation of the teaching team and support for the digital transition;
Coordination, monitoring and training of teaching teams;
Participation in teacher recruitment;
Development, implementation and monitoring of the continuing professional development plan;
Observation of groups/classes, observation reports, follow-up;
Mentoring and tutoring of new teachers;
Supervision of trainees;
Organization of pedagogical meetings: harmonization of learning progressions, frameworks, and content;
Management of replacements, monitoring of absences
Course and certification administration
; Preparation and monitoring of registrations;
Organization and planning of language courses (registrations, course scheduling and assignments);
Co-management of quality at the language course level based on the Quality Framework; Coordination of peripheral sites;
Organization of the start of term and monitoring of the smooth running of courses;
Development of course programs and pedagogical progressions;
Promotion and development of new course formats (thematic workshops in particular, professional French).
Instructional design:
Development of competency frameworks,
creation of teaching materials,
creation of assessment tools,
initiation of educational projects with teachers and other departments of the Institute,
coordination of assessments and preparation of end-of-session reports with the teaching team,
monitoring and promotion of the Institute's cultural activities to teachers and learners.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
Holder of a French as a Foreign Language diploma (Bac +4/5) or equivalent diploma.
DELF DALF examiner and marker certification desirable.
PROFLE tutor certification would be a plus. All references are subject to verification.
Experience:
Proven experience in teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE) or French for Specific Purposes (FOS);
essential experience in training and team management/leadership;
required experience in training trainers.
Skills:
Fluency in French (spoken, read, and written) is essential.
Excellent command of office software (Microsoft Office suite), online collaborative work tools, and digital learning tools.
Knowledge of colloquial Arabic would be an asset.
