Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Kindergarten Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the academic and operational excellence of the pre-primary section, including Nursery, LKG, and UKG. The role includes mentoring teachers, planning curriculum, ensuring child-centric learning environments, and supporting holistic development of young learners in alignment with the school’s vision and curriculum standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

  • Plan, implement, and monitor the early years curriculum (as per CBSE/ICSE/IB/Montessori frameworks).
  • Ensure age-appropriate lesson planning and instructional practices across KG grades.
  • Introduce play-based and inquiry-driven learning methodologies.

Teacher Support & Supervision:

  • Guide and mentor pre-primary teachers in pedagogy, class management, and lesson execution.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Organize workshops and training sessions for continuous teacher development.

Student Development:

  • Monitor the academic, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Ensure the classroom environment is safe, engaging, and nurturing.
  • Promote inclusive education practices and cater to diverse learning needs.

Parent Communication & Engagement:

  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Organize orientations, parent-teacher meetings, and early years events (Annual Day, Grandparents' Day, etc.).
  • Address parental concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timetables, manage class allocations, and ensure effective teacher deployment.
  • Maintain documentation related to student progress, attendance, and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, safety norms, and early childhood education standards.

Events & Activities:

  • Plan and oversee co-curricular and thematic activities (festivals, field trips, celebrations).
  • Collaborate with staff to create enriching, developmentally appropriate experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education / Education / Psychology (Master’s preferred)
  • B.Ed. / Montessori / NTT / ECCE certification (essential)
  • 5+ years of teaching experience in early years, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or coordination role
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and curriculum frameworks (CBSE/ICSE/IB PYP/Montessori)
