About the Role

The Junior Accountant will support the finance team by recording and maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with reconciliations, preparing basic financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is ideal for an entry-level candidate or recent graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in accounting within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Recordkeeping

• Record and maintain daily financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, and payroll entries.

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of invoices, receipts, and expense claims.

Reconciliations

• Assist with monthly reconciliations of bank, credit card, and vendor accounts.

Reporting

• Support the preparation of basic financial statements, summaries, and schedules.

• Assist in tracking budgets and updating cash flow reports.

Compliance & Coordination

• Work with external accountants on tax filings and compliance requirements.

• Support audits and due diligence processes during fundraising.

Process Improvement

• Contribute to finance process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline workflows.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or final-year student in a similar discipline).

• 0 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (internships welcome).

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel/Google Sheets.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and eagerness to learn.

• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
