Job Description
We are currently seeking a detail oriented and reliable Air Freight Operations Coordinator to join our operations team. In this role, you will manage air freight shipments from the moment the rate is approved until the issuance of the Air Waybill (AWB), while coordinating closely with clients, suppliers, and airlines. If you enjoy operational responsibility, structured workflows, and keeping shipments moving without surprises, this role will suit you well.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain continuous communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
• Coordinate cargo pickups via FedEx, DHL, and UPS online portals
• Verify cargo details including weight, dimensions, packaging, and readiness
• Monitor cargo arrival at warehouses and follow up on shipment status
• Prepare, issue, and verify Air Waybills (AWB) and related shipping documents
• Ensure compliance with airline requirements and international air cargo regulations
• Maintain accurate shipment records, documentation, and status updates
Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements
• Previous experience in air freight operations or freight forwarding (EU experience preferred)
• Familiarity with FedEx and DHL pickup and booking systems
• Basic knowledge of air cargo documentation such as AWB, packing list, commercial invoice, EX1, T1, T2
• Understanding of air freight concepts including chargeable weight, dimensions, and volumetric weight
• Strong communication skills with a proactive follow up mindset
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Proficiency in English, written and spoken
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively within a team
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working directly with airlines and airport cargo terminals
• Knowledge of Incoterms and basic IATA regulations
• Experience with cargo management or freight forwarding software
