Job Description

The IT Systems Administrator is a crucial role responsible for overseeing and maintaining the organization's computer systems and networks. This role ensures the stable operation, integrity, and security of in-house IT systems that support core organizational functions. As an IT Systems Administrator, you will be tasked with diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and network issues, assisting with technology upgrades, and implementing system improvements. Your goal will be to ensure effective operation of all company systems, as needed, and to effectively manage those systems upgrading processes. You should be well-versed in multiple operating systems and have strong problem-solving skills. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and ensure the success of IT projects and updates is critical in this role. The IT Systems Administrator works closely with other IT professionals and serves as a point of escalation for complex issues.


Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the organization s IT infrastructure, including hardware and software.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot both hardware and software technical issues efficiently.
  • Install, configure, and maintain both physical and virtual server environments.
  • Ensure network security and connectivity by configuring network settings and protocols.
  • Monitor system performance and provide necessary updates to optimize processes.
  • Work collaboratively with other IT team members to solve cross-functional technical issues.
  • Implement and oversee security protocols to protect confidential organization data.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely equipment repairs.
  • Document IT systems configurations and prepare detailed procedures for users and staff.
  • Train employees on software usage and troubleshoot any associated user issues.
  • Manage backup systems to guarantee data recovery during system failures.
  • Lead or participate in special IT projects and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role for three years minimum.
  • Strong understanding of system and network security, best practices, and standards.
  • Experience with network hardware, server setups, and virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in various operating systems especially Windows and Linux-based servers.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
