IT Database Administrator YOSH HOSPITALITY

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented IT Database Administrator to manage and support our database systems across various environments. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, high availability, security, and scalability of Microsoft SQL Server and other database platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement robust database solutions, manage data flow, and support business continuity through strong data governance and recovery strategies.  

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-availability, high-quality database systems based on business requirements
• Implement and manage databases that reflect end-user data needs, performance goals, and access controls
• Define users and manage secure data access and distribution strategies
• Ensure robust data backup and recovery processes using high-speed techniques
• Monitor and minimize database downtime while optimizing for fast query performance
• Provide proactive and reactive support to end users, including documentation and training
• Establish and maintain database policies, procedures, and standards
• Conduct regular testing and evaluations to ensure data integrity, privacy, and security
• Apply database patches and upgrades as required, keeping systems up to date
• Collaborate with technical teams and participate in project documentation and specification development
• Perform additional tasks as directed by the Direct Manager

Qualifications & Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
• Microsoft Certified in Data Management (must hold a valid credential)
• Certifications such as DP-900 (Azure Data Fundamentals) or DP-203 (Data Engineer Associate) are highly desirable
• Exposure to Business Intelligence tools and SQL Database Development is a strong plus

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with Oracle and MySQL database systems
• Completed at least 3 full implementation cycles for database management systems (DBMS)
• Experience working in Microsoft Azure cloud environments related to data engineering

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Services, including Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Experience in business requirement analysis and documentation
• Proficient in MS Office and Microsoft Project Management
