Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems with irrigation systems and develop solutions.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine irrigation system requirements.
  • Develop and implement irrigation plans based on water availability and crop needs.
  • Routine inspection of irrigation works, determines quality of work, suitability of materials for installation in compliance to approved drawings, specifications, codes & standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and best practices for irrigation.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to optimize irrigation system performance.
  • Reviewing and preparation of shop drawing, submittals, as built drawing by reviewing the IFC, BOQ, project specification and co-ordinate between disciplines of MEP, soft/hard landscape.
  • Conduct pre-tender site visit, prepare the minute of site visit and technical clarifications.
  • Controls all irrigation works with regards to installation methods, scheduling and procurement in accordance with the contract specifications.
  • Monitor and analyze irrigation system data to optimize water usage and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in irrigation technology and recommend upgrades or improvements.
  • Preparation of method statement, operation schedule, testing and commissioning plan, ITP, Risk assessment, Training manual and O&M Manual.
  • Prepare reports and documentation on irrigation system performance and recommendations.
  • Follow-up and coordinate with RTA/Dewa/FEWA for NOC and other authority approval.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in irrigation engineering, agricultural engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in irrigation design or engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and managing irrigation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation principles, techniques, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with irrigation software and design tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
