Roles & Responsibilities
Provides technical support to investigators through gathering background documentation and carrying out basic legal research, providing preliminary recommendations, contributing to discussions concerning field investigation procedures, applicable policies and specific case developments. Prepares and processes standard investigation-related documentations, including notifications to managers, terms of reference for preliminary assessments and investigations, and official correspondence addressed to witnesses and subjects in relation to their participation in the investigation. Acts as secretary of the Field Office or Department of Internal Oversight Services (DIOS) Intake Committee including preparing its agenda, drafting minutes of meetings and related documentations; follows up, in coordination with the Senior Field Investigator or DIOS Investigations Officer (Intake), on the implementation of its recommendations. As coordinated with the supervisor, liaises on behalf of the Investigations Unit with the Field Human Resources Office, the Field Legal Office, the DIOS or Field Offices and other relevant divisions as appropriate, to verify information and collect documentations relevant to investigation processes and the personnel involved; provides periodical status updates and reports, as appropriate. Makes appropriate recording, organizing and following up the received complaints and misconduct allegations; arranges interviews and communicates with investigators, complainants, witnesses and subjects of investigations. Creates, organizes and maintains a database for the Unit documentations; updates and keeps track of cases to be opened, processed or closed; searches and provides statistical and the other required information; provides input and assists in finalizing investigation reports to the required content and quality standard. Follows up with Finance, Human Resources and Administrative Services, as required, on financial, HR, Administrative and support services, including logistics for meetings, travel management, financial codes and other relevant matters. Prepares draft of correspondence and maintains all working folders/files, including strictly confidential case files; works closely with the Field Legal Office staff to coordinate referencing and background searches. Implements technical guidance received from DIOS in relation to Investigations; assists in the preparation and forwarding of reports and other information to DIOS as required.

Education
A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Law, Investigations, Human Resources, Management or a related discipline.
