Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1 – Mission

Responsible for performing site inspections on structural works to confirm compliance with contract documents, UAE authority codes, IATA/ICAO standards, and international best practices. The Inspector safeguards quality and safety at all times on site.

2 – Line & Staff Relations

This role reports directly to the Resident / Structural Engineer / Project Manager at site. He/She coordinates with:

• Local project staff and multidisciplinary teams.

• Contractors’ QA/QC departments.

• Statutory authorities (Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, GCAA, etc.).

3 – Key Responsibilities

Site Inspections

· Attend all inspection requests (IRs) from the contractor for civil and structural works.

· Undertake site inspections as required by the Resident Engineer/Project Manager.

· Stop any non-compliant or unsafe work and notify the supervising engineer.

Quality Control

· Assess workmanship, material quality, and installation methods.

· Review and evaluate contractor’s QA/QC submittals, shop drawings, and method statements.

· Record controversial or non-complying construction practices and issue NCRs where required.

· Check and witness laboratory/site tests.

· Maintain accurate daily logs, site records, and photographic evidence.

Progress & Safety Monitoring

· Monitor manpower, site productivity, and safety measures daily.

· Review hold points, inspection reviews, and progress monitoring reports.

· Continuously monitor quality and highlight risks or delays.

· Support training and evaluation of assigned staff.

· Apply AI-enabled inspection and QA/QC reporting tools for enhanced efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

·4–5 years as Structural Site Inspector on large complex projects.

· Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.

Knowledge

· UAE codes and authority requirements (Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, GCAA).

· IATA ADRM and ICAO Annexes relevant to aviation infrastructure.

· Quality system standards and methodologies.

Software Skills (2025 Updated)

· AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), Navisworks.

· MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· QA/QC platforms, digital site reporting, and AI-based inspection apps.

Soft Skills

· Strong English communication.

· Proactive problem-solving and teamwork.
