Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspections of engineering projects, meticulously verifying adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure project integrity.
- Evaluate and approve materials, components, and workmanship, ensuring they meet stringent quality control criteria and project needs for optimal performance and longevity.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, documenting findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions, providing a clear record of project progress and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers, proactively addressing and resolving any identified issues or discrepancies to prevent delays and maintain project momentum.
- Monitor construction activities, proactively identifying potential risks and hazards, and implementing preventive measures to ensure a safe working environment and minimize accidents.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents, ensuring a thorough understanding of project requirements and inspection protocols.
- Conduct testing and analysis of materials and components, using specialized equipment and techniques, to verify their properties and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Perform regular site visits, observing construction progress, and verifying that work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams, offering expert advice on inspection procedures, quality control measures, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions, ensuring data integrity and providing a comprehensive audit trail for project accountability.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field), demonstrating a strong academic foundation in engineering principles.
- Holds relevant certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or API certifications, showcasing expertise in inspection methodologies and industry standards.
- Demonstrates 5+ years of experience in construction or engineering inspection, proving a solid background in practical application of inspection techniques.
- Exhibits a deep understanding of relevant industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ISO), ensuring familiarity with quality control and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents, ensuring a strong ability to understand project requirements.
- Demonstrates strong technical skills in inspection tools and equipment, including knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and techniques.
- Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex engineering issues.
- Possesses strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, enabling quick and effective resolution of issues in the field.
- Exhibits physical ability to perform inspections on construction sites, including climbing, walking, and working in various weather conditions.
