Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities


YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Answer all in-room dining phone calls promptly and professionally, using proper etiquette and the hotel's standard script.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and input them into the POS (Point of Sale) system.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the menu items, including ingredients, dietary restrictions, and preparation times.
  • Upsell menu items and suggest alternatives or pairings to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
  • Monitor the status of all in-room dining orders and update guests with any delays or issues.
  • Handle guest complaints or issues with empathy and escalate to management when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the order-taking area and related materials.
  • Keep updated records of special requests, dietary needs, or VIP guest preferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure smooth operation of the department.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or customer service education is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or call center environment preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Proficient in using POS systems and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in order taking.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
