Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Answer all in-room dining phone calls promptly and professionally, using proper etiquette and the hotel's standard script.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and input them into the POS (Point of Sale) system.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of the menu items, including ingredients, dietary restrictions, and preparation times.
- Upsell menu items and suggest alternatives or pairings to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Monitor the status of all in-room dining orders and update guests with any delays or issues.
- Handle guest complaints or issues with empathy and escalate to management when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the order-taking area and related materials.
- Keep updated records of special requests, dietary needs, or VIP guest preferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure smooth operation of the department.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or customer service education is a plus.
- Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or call center environment preferred.
- Strong verbal communication and telephone etiquette skills.
- Proficient in using POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in order taking.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive attitude and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
