Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Define, implement, and continuously enhance the HSSE strategy, policies, and objectives in alignment with corporate goals, Oman Labour Law, environmental regulations, and international standards.
Manage audits, inspections, and performance reviews, ensuring adherence to HSSE requirements and identification of improvement opportunities.
Maintain a comprehensive HSSE risk register, oversee risk assessments, and ensure proactive mitigation of hazards.
Direct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Manage emergency preparedness and crisis management programs, including drills, evacuation exercises, fire safety, and emergency response readiness.
Provide timely and strategic reporting on incidents, risks, and mitigation progress to Executive Management.
Oversee inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors, while coaching line managers and supervisors on safety accountability.
Ensure compliance to environmental monitoring, reporting, and audits.
Manage site security systems, including access control, surveillance, and emergency lockdown procedures.
Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure the facility meets or exceeds safety and security standards.
Represent the company in regulatory forums, audits, and industry HSSE initiatives.
Provide strategic guidance and comprehensive reporting to senior management.
Carry out any other activities as and when required by the reporting manager.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Health, Safety, Environment, Engineering, or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Certification, IOSH Chartered Membership, or equivalent are required.
- First Aid and Fire Warden certifications are preferred.
Experience
- Minimum - 8 years of experience, including 2 years in a managerial role.
Competencies
- Strong understanding of Omani regulations, international HSSE standards, and corporate compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage corporate-level HSSE programs, emergency preparedness, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, reporting capabilities.
- High integrity, accountability, and ability to influence at senior levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSSE data management tools.
- Expertise in ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and other relevant HSSE management systems.
