Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal requirements, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, with a focus on practical application within a manufacturing environment.
- Monitor the effectiveness of health and safety systems and procedures across the organization.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify workplace hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
- Ensure the organization complies with all local, regional, and national health and safety regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and adjust practices to ensure compliance.
- Lead inspections and audits by regulatory bodies and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness through regular communication and educational sessions.
- Maintain records of employee training, certifications, and safety performance.
- Lead investigations of safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents and track the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Oversee the proper documentation of all health and safety-related incidents.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on health and safety performance to senior management.
- Keep accurate records of safety inspections, audits, and safety-related activities.
- Maintain up-to-date emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
- Supervise a team of health and safety officers, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement integrated safety initiatives and ensure safe working practices.
- Foster a proactive safety culture within the organization, ensuring employee engagement.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master s preferred).
- 10-15 years of experience in a health and safety leadership role, preferably in a similar industry.
- Certification in Health and Safety Management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).br>
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
