Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, regulations, and standards specific to the construction and oil & gas industries.
  • Implement company HSE policies, procedures, and standards on-site.
  • Preparing HSE plans for projects. Educate, motivate and train staff and workers in HSE aspects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, non-compliance, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
  • Monitor the implementation of control measures for identified risks.
  • Record and report accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly.
  • Investigate incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare incident reports and share lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide HSE induction and training for all personnel, including contractors and subcontractors.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings on critical topics.
  • Promote a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns and engagement activities.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans tailored to site-specific risks.
  • Conduct regular drills for scenarios such as fire, spills, or medical emergencies.
  • Ensure emergency equipment is inspected, maintained, and accessible.
  • Ensuring Firefighting and First Aid facilities and proper HSE documentation at site.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to HSE standards, including permit-to-work systems, scaffolding safety, and confined space entry.
  • Maintain records of HSE inspections, audits, SOR and training sessions.
  • Submit regular HSE performance reports to management.
  • Monitor waste management, emissions, and pollution control practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement sustainability initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts of operations.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to address HSE concerns.
  • Dealing with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities on HSE related matters.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly HSE meetings.
  • Ensure contractors and subcontractors meet company and regulatory HSE requirements.
  • Periodic HSE performance evaluation of sub-contractors.
  • Selection and procurement of personal protective equipment’s / safety equipment’s.
  • Safety budget preparation.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering with min. 5+ years of experience & NEBOSH with experience in Construction / Oil & Gas sites of large organizations handling HSE Management functions and ensuring safety in mega projects.
  • Working experience in Electrical projects (Construction of Grid Station, OHL, Solar, Wind Power project) is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards (e.g.,OSHA, NEBOSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Proficient in risk assessment and hazard identification techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to promote safety culture.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate HSE records.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
