Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose
To support and advise the business on all HSE matters, ensuring compliance with safety standards, procedures, and regulations within the factory. Responsible for monitoring, training, and implementing safety processes to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety & Risk Management
• Monitor daily plant operations and identify potential hazards
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures
• Investigate incidents/accidents and ensure corrective actions are applied
• Maintain all statutory permits, licenses, and compliance documentation
• Conduct daily safety inspections, safety inductions, and toolbox talks
2. Training & Awareness
• Deliver safety inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors
• Develop SOPs, policies, and safety training modules
• Ensure training records are properly maintained and retrievable
• Promote awareness of GMP and 5S standards across the site
3. Audits & Compliance
• Conduct regular site safety and 5S audits
• Ensure fire drills, firefighting equipment checks, and gas monitoring are completed
• Liaise with external agencies for equipment certifications and inspections
• Report regularly on safety performance, incidents, and compliance
4. Asset & Resource Management
• Maintain and calibrate safety equipment
• Ensure first aid kits are stocked and accessible
• Ensure proper use of available resources for safety operations
5. Reporting & Communication
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports
• Update safety bulletin boards with key communications
• Liaise with insurance providers for damage or accident cases
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in HSE
6. Other Duties
• Ensure smooth handovers before/after leave
• Flexible to work outside standard hours if required
• Perform any other HSE-related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Education
• Diploma in Industrial/Engineering (recognized university)
Experience
• 2 5 years in HSE or similar role
Certifications
• COSHH training, OHSAS Auditor (Internal/Lead preferred)
Skills
• Strong risk assessment and investigation skills
• Knowledge of hazardous materials, GMP & 5S standards
• Good communication, training, and reporting abilities
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
• Organized, proactive, and able to work under pressure
• Supervisory and team coordination skills
