Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Implement and monitor compliance with project HSE, lifting, and marine safety plans.

2. Ensure adherence to Qatar Energy LNG, contractor standards, and legal regulations.

3. Coordinate with logistics and lifting teams for safe loading/unloading operations.

4. Review lifting plans and verify equipment certifications and maintenance records.

5. Conduct routine site and equipment safety inspections.

6. Ensure lifting gear is inspected, certified, and properly tagged.

7. Supervise critical and over-water lifts, ensuring proper planning and briefing.

8. Monitor weather, tides, and coordinate with marine traffic before operations.

9. Verify marine crew qualifications and vessel safety equipment compliance.

10. Enforce use of PPE, including life jackets and fall protection near water.

11. Inspect marine platforms, barges, and construction zones daily.

12. Stop unsafe acts immediately and escalate to the HSE Manager.

13. Investigate incidents and recommend corrective/preventive actions.

14. Conduct inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.

15. Maintain inspection records and submit regular HSE reports.

Desired Candidate Profile

· Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.

· NEBOSH IGC or equivalent.

· Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) training/certification.

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in marine civil construction projects with significant lifting

operations.

· Knowledge of Qatari HSE laws, IMO, SOLAS regulations, and ISO 45001 standards.

· Strong leadership, communication, and incident investigation skills.
