Roles & Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating housekeeping operations to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and upkeep of facilities which includes staff accommodations / camps. The role requires strong supervision skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high service standards while managing a team of housekeeping staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Develop and implement housekeeping procedures and checklists to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Supervise and allocate daily cleaning tasks to housekeeping staff.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure facilities meet cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Train and guide housekeeping staff on cleaning methods, chemical usage, and safety practices.
- Ensure safe and efficient use of cleaning equipment, tools, and materials.
- Monitor staff attendance, rosters, and leave to ensure proper coverage.
- Coordinate with the Facilities/Engineering team to report and resolve maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, consumables, and staff performance.
- Address client and customer complaints professionally and promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Support deep cleaning programs, pest control, and other special housekeeping projects.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma or equivalent qualification (Hospitality or Facilities Management preferred).
- 6 years of housekeeping experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
- Familiarity with safety and hygiene regulations.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office and reporting tools).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in diverse environments.
