The front office receptionist position in a five-star hotel is one of the most important jobs in hotel operations, as it represents the first interface that guests interact with and reflects the hotel's image and the quality of its service.
Below are the basic duties and responsibilities of a clerk in a 5-star hotel:

Main tasks:
1. Greet and welcome guests politely and professionally upon their arrival at the hotel.
2. Check-in and verify the accuracy of your reservation, identity, and payment details.
3. Complete check-out procedures accurately and quickly, ensuring that all bills and expenses are settled.
4. Responding to guest inquiries regarding rooms, facilities, and services available inside and outside the hotel.
5. Enter and update guest data into the hotel management system (PMS) such as Opera, Fidelio or similar.
6. Handle guest complaints in a courteous and prompt manner and refer them to the supervisor or manager on duty when necessary.
7. Coordination with other departments (room service, housekeeping, security, reservations) to ensure guest comfort.
8. Follow up on special guest requests such as booking taxis, restaurants, or transportation services.
9. Handling phone calls and transferring them to the relevant departments or to guest rooms as needed.
10. Maintain the appearance of the reception area to always be clean, organized and elegant.

Administrative and financial responsibilities:
1. Handling cash and credit card payments in accordance with the hotel’s financial policies.
2. Handover and receive shifts in an organized manner, documenting daily notes.
3. Preparing daily reports on occupancy, arrival and departure, and important notes.
4. Checking the status of rooms (available, occupied, under cleaning) in cooperation with the housekeeping department.

• Skills in using computer and hotel management systems.
