Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of HAZMAT regulations.
- Preferred Certifications/Training: Transportation of Hazardous Material, Basic Fire Fighting, Basic First Aid, Defensive Driving.
- Proficiency in English is a must
- Minimum 4-7 years of experience driving heavy vehicles (tanker/trailer trucks).
- Prior experience in CNG/LPG/fuel/Chemicals/oil transport is highly preferred.
The Heavy Vehicle Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) across the UAE, ensuring compliance with hazardous material regulations, company policies, and UAE traffic laws. The role involves operating specialized gas trailers, performing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate logs, and adhering to strict safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Transport Gas Trailers and Equipment over land to and from consumers plants, compressors, ports, and storage hubs.
- Follow operation procedures for connecting/disconnecting filling hoses between the trailer, filling dispensers, and discharging points.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative. Maintenance and follow-up vehicle repairs.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly complying with safety requirements.
- Follow safety procedures for transporting hazardous goods.
- Performed pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspection of vehicle.
- Keeping the exterior and interior of their vehicles clean and tidy.
- Maintain truck logs and obtain customers signatures on delivery documents.
- Plan routes and meet operations delivery schedules.
- Communicate with supervisors, other drivers, and customers using wireless devices and on-board computers.
- Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
- Input macros into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process.
- Comply with local heavy vehicle driving rules and traffic regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks and trailers into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
