Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Heavy Lift Superintendent shall lead and ensure the safe execution of their project(s) heavy lifting and transport operations within NMDC Energy assigned Yard. This is in addition to their routine duties of managing daily deployment of tools, equipment, and manpower in accordance with NMDC Yards established manuals & procedures, as well as local regulations, international standards and best practices.

Principle accountabilities:

  • Manage a team of Heavy Lift General Foreman and Heavy Lift Supervisors assigned to their project.
  • Manage distribution and utilization of Heavy Lift equipment and manpower within his projects in coordination with Construction Superintendents.
  • Lead all complex lift, transportation, weighing and load-out operations within their projects and ensure they are conducted according to approved project procedures, drawings, and method statements.
  • Manage all logistic requirements for their projects.
  • Liaise with offshore logistics supervisors for berthing and mooring of cargo barges assigned to their projects.
  • Ensure all equipment in their projects are properly maintained and certified and liaise with Asset Integrity for maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure all personnel in their projects have adequate training and certification.
  • Ensure all Heavy Lift gears in his projects are properly utilized, stored, maintained, and certified.
  • Conduct monthly internal HSE audits in all areas of their projects and ensure audit reports are generated.
  • Enforce HSE policies and procedures in their projects by ensuring the following:
  • HIP talks and HSE audits are conducted on a regular basis.
  • Near miss and HSE observation reporting is in line with HSE policy requirements
  • Manage a team of Heavy Lift & Transport Supervisors.
  • and ensure required progress is achieved.
  • Ensure proper interface and coordination between the Heavy Lift Section and other NMDC Departments and Sections, such as Yard Operations, Yard Methods Section, Offshore Operations, LTS, and the Engineering Dept

Desired Candidate Profile

Education :

  • High School diploma or higher

Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years in Heavy Lifting Operations.

Technical Competencies.

  • Preferrable to have experience in SPMT Transport, Loadout, and Weighing Operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of lifting equipment and heavy lift operations.
  • Based in Ras AlKhair Fabrication Yard.
  • Heavy Lift Equipment Operations Management
  • Knowledge of operational aspects of lifting equipment
  • Safety & HSE Compliance
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Office and field environment with exposure to heavy lift and operations.
